The company, Nam Hin Medical Hall (the original name of Syarikat Nang Hin Trading Sdn Bhd before it was incorporated) was founded by Mr. Ho Ming Fatt in 1978 as a sole proprietor business, retailing traditional Chinese medicine and herbs. It was located at a double storey shop lot in SEA Park, Petaling Jaya. Eight years after Nam Hin Medical Hall was in business, Mr, Ho, together with the other two shareholders, Mr. Seow Kok Meng and Madam Wong Fong Chang had transformed the retail business into a wholesale/distribution business on the 28th July 1986. The company name had since been changed to Syarikat Nang Hin Trading Sdn Bhd.

Mr. Ho had intentionally retained the original company name as he named the new company, Nang Hin (Nam Hin) in memory of his late father. The company name, Nang Hin/Nam Hin also symbolizes the prosperity in the southern regions (of China), which also represents his expectation towards his company.
